Now Hiring: Audit & Innovation Associate (Part-Time)

We're looking for a detail-oriented, forward-thinking team member to support school district audits across Nebraska. This is a hands-on, part-time role designed for someone who's excited to grow their skills, contribute to meaningful work, and help improve audit systems and processes along the way.
The Role
Job Title: Audit & Innovation Associate
Type: Part-time (approx. 20 hours/week)
Location: Hybrid - work from home with weekly meetings in Omaha and occasional travel for fieldwork (up to 5 overnights per year)
Pay Range: $22-$30/hour, depending on experience
What You'll Do
- Update and prepare audit workpapers
- Perform audit testing
- Draft engagement and management letters
- Prepare pro forma financial statements and supporting schedules
- Track and coordinate audit confirmations
- Reconcile county treasurer and state receipts
- Assist with fieldwork across Nebraska school districts
- Draft audit reports and complete detailed testing
- Attend weekly team meetings in Omaha
- Complete required continuing education
- Help improve internal processes and build systems for future audit seasons
Who We're Looking For
- You're pursuing or have a degree in accounting (or a related field)
- You've had some exposure to audit or accounting work
- You're comfortable with Excel, Word, and cloud-based tools
- You're based in the Omaha area and can travel to fieldwork and meetings as needed
- You're organized, proactive, and ready to learn
- You enjoy both routine tasks and building better ways to do things
